Message from Georgia:
After 35 years of operating a van tour business, it is time to step aside for new entrepreneurs to take over.
What a ride it has been! Meeting thousands of visitors to not only Los Alamos, but to New Mexico and the Southwest, learning how to navigate New Mexico motor carrier codes and a myriad of other legalities, working with others in the hospitality industry and world-wide adventure travel, being part of the Los Alamos business community team and New Mexico tourism. Our visitors and contacts through the years have been unfathomably fantastic. THANK YOU!
This winter, septuagenarian Georgia Strickfaden is retiring and selling the business. Atomic City Tours, LLC, will live on, though. Exciting changes will be announced later this spring!
Primary owner/guide of Atomic City Tours, Georgia Strickfaden, was born and raised in nuclear age Los Alamos, NM. As a former school teacher and with a passion for showing off the depth and breadth of Los Alamos history and its setting in northern New Mexico, she launched her small van-tour company in 1985.
Being associated with Los Alamos Historical Society and other community entities gives her the opportunity to hang out with published historians, researchers, movers and shakers. It’s still her joy to personally meet and share the Los Alamos experience with visitors..
